How to arrive

We meet Thursday, the 24th of August at 8 p.m. (try to be there at 6 p.m. to set up tent and eat) at the “rePlace Coal!” barrio on the climate camp.

The climate camp takes place in between the cities of Erkelenz and Holzweiler – just behind the Lahey park (look at the map).

It’s great to have as many means of transport available during the action as possible. So try to take your bike, a well-filled car or come otherwise mobile, if possible!

With the train

Note that you can get to the camp using public transport quite well also, from Aachen, Cologne or Duesseldorf (all well-served by fast trains) you pay around 12€ for a ticket to Erkelenz. The distance from the railway station to the Camp is around 4,5 kilometers. You can get there by bike or bus. From Erkelenz Railway station take bus EK3 to „Weyerhof“ and follow the signs to the camp’s location. The distance is also (hitch-)hikable.

PLEASE NOTE: At the weekend the regular bus doesn’t run, but you there are “Multi-busses”, which you have to call at least an hour in advance (+49 2431 886688).

If you’re in Erkelenz and not getting anywhere, you can also call our shuttle number (but try to get to the camp by other means first, please): +49 157 33448876

With the bus

There are several busses from all over Germany and even some international ones that take you to all the different actions in the Rhineland.

To participate all through the action, be there until Sunday evening at 6 p.m. If you can stay one, two or even a couple of days longer: please do! There is a lot of work to be done deconstructing the camp.
